Say Hello to the new Apprentices
We have two new apprentices that joined; introducing to you, the latest additions to the Peabody team, Ashley and Venetia. Ashley and Venetia are currently working in our youth clubs as well as at The College of North East London to gain their NVQ2 in Youth Work. You will see them around during our upcoming projects so give them a warm welcome!!!!
Work shadowing at Peabody Trust
On may 31st & June 1st, Young people from across London came down to our Gateway centre in Elephant & Castle, to attend a new work shadowing opportunity. The first day was a workshop that was to help “find their direction” through a number of activities run by Vanessa Sanyauke Creator of Rafiki Network. Combining Vanessa’s helpful experience and advice (pizza was also a main contribute to the day), the young people got into their stride choosing where they would like to be placed for the next day for their shadowing experiences. Roles included were working with Head of legal services to Facility officers, Customer service/SAS officer and many more. The young people enjoyed their days with the positions they chose, some were ready to start working straight away!
The Pembury Chillout Room
At the Pembury youth center there has been some new developments with the chillout room. We have now started changing the whole room and will hopefully be done within 6 weeks. We will have made some major changes in the room creating a fresh, new and improved environment ready for all the new goodies to get moved in! The young people have been working very hard towards getting the room completed.
