Hi I’m Jamal, 16, i’m currently on a 20 week voluntary course called the Pump it Project at Sans Street Youth Centre.
Before this course I wasnt 100% sure what my future career was going to be, but I sat down with one of the Youth Workers and talked about what I’m interested in. My passion is music and I said I’d be interested in working at concerts and travelling the world working at gigs and music festivals.
I’ve done some voluntary work at The Bunker- this is a recording studio in Sunderland and they have shown me how to set up a PA system by myself. I’m learning how to manage the sound as people are performing.

Hi my name is Jess i am 18 years old and have been with my partner for nearly four years. We were curently doing nothing before starting a youth project called Pump It Project.
We have been on the course now for nearly twenty weeks, at the beginning of the project I found out I was pregnant we still carried on with the Pump It Project and now we have gained our First Aid Certificate, NVQ in Employability Skills,Sports Leaders Award and Volunteering.
We are now looking for a home and my partner is starting work next month so everything is looking up after this project has finished but it has helped us a lot .
I have really enjoyed being part of this group.
I am now hoping to find a job as a Nurse in our local hospital after the baby is born and start my career there.
