My work experience week

Hi my name is Louise, this is a blog about my work experience week at CDHT and the things I have learnt and experienced over the week.

Day 1: On the first day of my work experience, I met the team I was going to be shadowing, I had a tour around the building and seen all the different departments. Then I was told what CDHT was all about and how they work to make people involved in the plans that they make, after that I was put into my team which was resident involvement, everybody was very friendly and helpful for the rest of the day I shadowed the team.

Day 2: On Tuesday the resident involvement team had put on an event called vintage blacon. It was a chance for residents to come and have refreshments, have the nails and hands done, there was different company’s there such as age uk so residents could look around and find out more things, I was making cards and book marks with some of the residents.

Day 3: On Wednesday i had a taste of what office work was all about, i did some things like making labels and printing them off then sticking them on the envolpes ready for them to be sent out, I did some photo coping and printing.

Day 4: On Thursday morning i started to write a blog and started a c.v, in the afternoon i went to a meeting about getting younger people’s voices heard and what they want in their community.

Day 5: On Friday i finished off my blog and c.v then i reviwed what i had learnt this week.

A summary of my week work experience:

I have learnt all about the resident involment team and what they do to try to help people in different communitys , I have learnt all the effort CDHT do to make sure the public is aware of whats going on in their area. I have also learnt about basic office work and some i.t skills.  I have had a lot of experience in the week i have been here and met a lot of friendly people. I feel more confident that i will gain employment in the future.
